Meet the team: Lucy

Lucy has worked in marketing for over a decade and in travel for most of that time. After leaving the industry after mat leave (the first time), she just had to return - and it's true what they say, once you leave you have to come back… and so she joined Tripsmiths in the summer of 2022. A self-confessed foodie, Lucy once went to Amsterdam purely to visit a Michelin-starred restaurant. When she's not creating content or cooking, she's a mum to two boys - and very much in her football mum era (which she doesn't mind at all)!

Which destination is on your bucket list?

I have a few - Hawaii and Galapagos are my dream destinations, but more realistically, I'd love to visit Croatia and Montenegro.

Where is your favourite destination?

With family in Spain, I have to say there. I love the food, the culture and everything about it. I've explored the country extensively, but Madid is my favourite city.

Which TS tour would you recommend?

As a self-confessed foodie, I have to say the popular gourmet tour of Puglia. What a great way to immerse yourself in the gastronomy of the region and try your hand at authentic experiences like pasta making.

What has been your favourite bucket list experience?

After seeing the Northern Lights twice in my back garden in 2024, I finally saw them in Norway in 2025 - three times! It really was a magical experience, from the deck of the cruise ship I was on.

What's your most memorable travel experience?

Exploring the island of Madeira in 2019, with my then 2-year-old. Visiting several of the botanical gardens and touring the east and west sides of the island were dreamy. As it was out of season, the hotel was so quiet and we were well looked after. I'd love to return for the flower festival.

Which TS tour would you most like to go on?

The best-selling Glacier Express tour. I've never been to Swizterland and the whole trip sounds magical - being surrounded by that gorgeous scenery.

Summer sun.

City break or beach holiday?

City break.

By plane, rail or ship?

Ship - I love cruising.

Long haul or short haul?

Short haul (never travelled long haul).

Off the beaten track.
