  2. Day
    2
    Niagara Falls
    Niagara Falls, Canada

You'll have a day in Niagara Falls today to spend as you wish, perhaps setting sail on the Hornblower Niagara cruise for a spray-soaked passage close to the foot of the torrent, formed at the point where the Niagara River plunges over precipices in two spectacular cascades.

Why not enjoy an optional buffet lunch with outstanding views in the Sheraton on the Falls' Dining Room?

  3. Day
    3
    Niagara-on-the-Lake and Toronto
    Toronto, Canada

This morning, there's a chance to take a thrilling Helicopter Ride over the Falls, offering outstanding views of the crashing water. Please note supplements apply for the helicopter ride.

Later, you'll journey to the exquisite town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, one of Canada's oldest settlements, and continue to Toronto, on the banks of Lake Ontario, for a two-night stay.

There'll be a guided tour to introduce you to one of North America's most cosmopolitan cities, which is divided into several distinct neighbourhoods reflecting the city's mix of cultures. You'll visit Chinatown, Greektown, Little India and Little Italy, as well as Victorian Cabbagetown and stylish Yorkville.

Later, enjoy your first evening in Toronto, perhaps by exploring some of the sleek developments along its Waterfront, its glitzy shopping malls and the slender needle of the CN Tower.

  4. Day
    4
    Toronto
    Toronto, Canada

Enjoy a free day to spend as you wish in Toronto, making the most of your time in the city.

Those with a head for heights might head for the CN Tower, where the very brave can experience the stomach-churning Edge Walk.

If you'd rather keep your feet on the ground, take a stroll along the Waterfront promenade or laze on the city's beaches, head for one of the city's fine museums and galleries, or visit historic Fort York, one of Canada's most important battlefield sites.

You can also take in the neo-Gothic opulence of Casa Loma, one of Toronto's most recognisable landmarks, or shop till you drop at the Eaton Centre.

  5. Day
    5
    Lake Ontario to Ottawa
    Ottawa, Canada

This morning, you'll follow the Maple Leaf Trail along Lake Ontario's northern shore past attractive Kingston, the gateway to the Thousand Islands and the St Lawrence River, to Ottawa, where you'll check in to your next hotel.

You'll spend the night in Canada's beautiful, romantic capital, with its Victorian houses, Grand Parliament buildings and famous Rideau Canal.

  6. Day
    6

  7. Day
    7
    Quebec City
    Quebec, Canada

Today, you're free to explore Québec City, one of Canada's oldest settlements. You'll have the chance to join an optional guided city tour before exploring the narrow, cobbled alleyways of the lower Basse Ville and its upper Haute Ville counterpart, which together form endlessly enthralling, UNESCO-listed Vieux-Québec, a district dominated by the monumental Citadelle and the Château Frontenac hotel.

    8
    Travel to Montreal
    Montreal, Canada

You'll check out of your hotel this morning and travel to Montreal, where you can choose between joining an optional sightseeing tour or spending the rest of the day at leisure.

Montreal combines cutting-edge modernity, French style and flair, and is a cosmopolitan mix of high culture, high fashion and high tech. The guided tour will show you the pretty Vieux Port area and the lively Plateau Mont Royal and the waterfront, which rivals Vancouver's for glass and steel architectural marvels, and contrasts with the bohemian groove of trendy Plateau Mont Royal and Vieux Montreal.

  9. Days
