Sail around the coastline and islands of Costa Rica and Panama

Board a magnificent masted clipper ship for a cruise holiday that's out of this world. You'll board Star Clipper in Puntarenas in Costa Rica, journeying down the west coast of Central America on a week-long exploration. You'll get to know Costa Rica first, sailing into the turquoise bays and disembarking for the chance to venture through mangroves and lagoons and listen out for the calls of monkeys in the rainforests.

You'll sail south to Panama and stop at two paradisiacal islands - Coiba Island and Parida Island - both known for their pristine beaches, lapped with jade water. Find a spot beneath a shady palm on the exquisite beach of Tortuga Island, take a thrilling canopy tour to spot wildlife or snorkel alongside manta rays.

Star Clipper

0

Traditional tall ship with 36,000 feet of billowing sails

The elegant Star Clipper was launched in 1992 and is a replica of the traditional clipper ships of the 19th-century, without sacrificing the modern comforts of today's luxury liners. With only 166 guests, life aboard is blissfully relaxed, much like travelling on a private yacht.

On board, the interiors hark back to the golden era, with plenty of polished mahogany and brass. In addition to the main dining room, there is also the Piano Bar, as well as the lively Tropical Bar, used for all manner of activities. The two small plunge pools are perfect for those days spent at sea, and there's always a fantastic programme of entertainment, fitness classes and workshops to keep guests busy.
