This is an elegant hotel, exemplified through the high-ceilinged entrance lobby, arched courtyard and lobby bar, with its marble-topped counter. The gym, restaurants and accomodation (all with sea view) are stacked on top of each other, to recreate the Corfiot villa style.

Service is friendly and helpful. Facilities include two bars and restaurants, a small gym and spa. The beach offers water sports, while the hotel organises boat trips and live music. Guests may use the facilities at sister hotel, MarBella, with a golf buggy ferrying you between properties.

There are 70 rooms, which range in size from 30sqm to 50sqm. All have sea views and verandas or terraces, pools or whirlpool baths. The décor is neutral, with shades of cream and brown.

When lounging on the patio, drinks from Aquavit are a must; the Heritage lobby bar is the place for a pre-dinner aperitif. San Giovanni serves a high-quality buffet. We loved the Corfiot cuisine at Apaggio, especially the Bourdeto (fish tartare with a lightly spiced tomato soup).
