The hotel is in the 11th arrondissement near place de la Bastille. If you walk west, you'll reach the delightful Place des Vosges and the shops and restaurants of the Marais. On Thursday and Sunday mornings you can visit the market in boulevard Richard Lenoir.

The hotel is at the junction of rue St Sabin and rue du Chemin Vert. Both Bréquet Sabin and Chemin Vert Métro stations are close by.

By plane: London or Manchester to Paris Charles de Gaulle takes 1 hour 15 minutes, after which, it's a 45-minute drive to the hotel. On-site parking costs €36 per day. Book flights to Paris.

By train: London to Paris Gare du Nord takes 2 hours 20 minutes, after which, it's a 20-minute drive to the hotel. Book trains to Paris.

The hotel rises to seven storeys, and while it's a fairly modern block, the lobby-lounge adds some personality with its funky interiors. See if you can spot the hanging bicycles, pink flamingoes and bookshelves with rollerskates. There's a DJ at weekends, and the lifts feature maps of Paris as well as a selfie mirror.


Reception is at one end of the bar, where you'll be offered a welcome drink. Wi-Fi is speedy thoughout the hotel. The staff are young, cheery and helpful, and known as "Moxy Crew".

Rooms comes in five categories and either face the street or have inner courtyard views. Rooms are pared down, with a queen size bed, clothes rail and small work desk. Compact tiled bathrooms contain showers.

There's no restaurant, but there are plenty of restaurant choices nearby. The Moxy Bar stocks draught beers and offers cocktails. Snacks including cheese plates, lasagne and 'Lord of the Onion Rings' are available. There's a buffet breakfast which serves decent coffee and range of options.
