THE LOCATION
You're on the southwest corner of the Tiergarten, where Drakestrasse and Thomas-Dehler-Strasse meet. This is a quiet and well-policed neighbourhood where several embassies are located. Zoologischer Garten U-Bahn station is 15-minutes' walk away. Berlin Zoo is on your doorstep and the hotel even has a private entrance (and sells tickets at reception).
If you're in need of a shopping trip, there are plenty in Kurfürstendamm including the famous KaDeWe department store.
By plane: direct flights to Berlin Brandenburg from London (1 hour 40 minutes), Manchester (1 hour 55 minutes) and Edinburgh (2 hours 5 minutes). It's a 30-minute drive to the hotel. Book flights to Berlin.
CHARACTER & STYLE
The 1930s building has an attractive curved façade, with an outside terrace with African furniture that is lovely in the summer. Interiors are colourful and playful, inspired by the nearby zoo with a resident crocodile sculpture and wire mesh giraffe and chimpanzee.

The young and helpful team are ready to dish out directions and advice at the small reception desk between the entrance hall and bar. Break a sweat in the SO/ FIT gym, which has a view of the zoo. You can also hire bikes.
