Transylvania's Hotel of Ice is carved each year entirely out of
ice extracted from a glacial lake, and is located among the
snow-capped peaks and frosty forests of the Fagaras
Mountains.
You can get your heart racing with snow sports like snow rafting
and off-piste skiing, or simply kick back with a drink and enjoy
the scenery. In the evening, enjoy dinner 'on ice' (not included in
trip price) before tucking yourselves into a cosy sleeping bag for
a snug night.
You'll spend three nights in Bucharest, where you'll be staying in
the buzzy Lipscani district, where you can spend time getting to
know the city's mediaeval heart and visiting many famous monuments

You'll arrive in Bucharest today and transfer to your boutique accommodation from the airport. You'll be staying in the Lipscani district - Bucharest's old town - where you'll be greeted with a coffee or glass of wine as you meet your fellow adventurers and settle in.
This morning, you'll transfer to Transylvania via Sinaia. Along the way you'll visit the magnificent Peles Castle, a neo-renaissance castle perched in the Carpathian Mountains.
You'll then head onwards to the medieval town of Brasov, where you'll have lunch. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to explore Brasov's charming old town, perhaps taking time to visit the gothic Black Church, or walking alongside the ancient city walls.
Today you'll travel through the Fagaras Mountains to the cable car which will transport you up to the dazzling, glacial Balea Lake. Here you'll find the Hotel of Ice, where you'll check in for the night.
Enjoy an afternoon on the mountain with a range of snow-based activities including the unmissable Tunnel Trek and tubing. Alternatively, spend time simply soaking in the snowy views and enjoying a warm drink.
In the evening you'll enjoy a fantastic Ice Hotel Dining Experience, where you can tuck into traditional Transylvania dishes, like grammel soup with lemon cream and garlic or candied duck on horseradish, served on ice plates in the hotel's atmospheric restaurant. Afterwards, why not head to the Sub Zero Ice Bar for some cool cocktails.
Today you'll travel back to Bucharest through Transylvania, stopping for a visit at Bran Castle, marketed as the home of the title character in Bram Stoker's Dracula. It's the most iconic mediaeval castle in Romania, and visitors can learn about the history of this atmospheric building while walking around its many rooms.
Later, you'll arrive back in Bucharest for some more time to enjoy this captivating capital.
Today is yours to explore Bucharest. Head out into the old town to explore Revolution Square and the Palace of the Parliament which is the largest administrative building in the world after the Pentagon.
You can also spend some time wandering through the city and enjoying some traditional Romanian dishes and drinks in the many cosy restaurants and bars which line the elegant streets.
After checking out, you'll transfer back to the airport in time for your flight home.
Every year the Hotel of Ice is built with a different theme, which is reflected in the hand-carved walls and furniture made by ice artists. This special hotel is nestled in the heart of the beautiful Fagaras Mountains. The Hotel of Ice has two different room grades, the standard Ice Hotel room or an igloo room, which is larger and more secluded. You can upgrade to an Igloo Room on request, subject to availability. Alternatively, if you’d prefer not to sleep in the Hotel of Ice, you can always get a room in Balea Lake Chalet. With furniture made of natural wood in a subtle modern style, this is a more traditional accommodation option for those who want a cosy night.
