Crossing into the Netherlands, the focus shifts to Operation
Market Garden. Following the route of XXX Corps, visit key drop
zones used by the US 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, as you gain
a deeper understanding of the ambition, and ultimate challenges, of
this vast Allied operation.
A day is also devoted to the Battle of Arnhem, where the story
of the 1st (British) Airborne Division and the 1st (Polish)
Independent Parachute Brigade unfolds across the landscape, before
focus shifts to the desperate defence of the Oosterbeek perimeter,
where British airborne troops held out against overwhelming German
forces. Visiting the Airborne Cemetery provides a poignant moment
