MORE INFORMATION

THE LOCATION

You're in an ideal location here - close to some of Venice's finest stores and sights, but set back from the main tourist throng, so you still feel secluded.

It's five minutes to St Mark's Square and the Rialto; seven minutes to the Teatro La Fenice.

By plane: London to Venice takes 2 hours, after which, an airport boat (or water taxi) takes one hour to reach the hotel. The hotel has an entrance on the canal. Book flights to Venice.

CHARACTER & STYLE

The hotel has the feel of a luxurious villa, with sumptuous yet understated décor. Think velvet curtains, gilt mosaics, pleated fabric lampshades and book shelves full of art books. In the evenings, there's a romantic atmosphere.

THE FACILITIES

Servive is excellent - a porter will carry your luggage and return to your room with extra coffee capsules should you need. Facilities include a rooftop solarium.

FOOD & DRINK

The restaurant serves Venetian classics - think local langoustine lightly grilled and served with salad or served raw as a carpaccio, followed by spaghetti con vongole with fresh clams or a rack of lamb with mustard and herbs. We loved the pistachio mousse, which was decadently rich.

Le Maschere: Venetian and Italian flavours, open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Lounge Bar: coffee, afternoon tea, cocktails. Open daily 11am-11pm.
