CHARACTER & STYLE

This Grade II-listed Arts and Crafts style building is adorned with wisteria flowers in spring and summer, while croquet sets are thoughtfully arranged on the lawn. Interiors offer everything you could desire: expansive open fires, exposed brickwork, wooden beams and a spacious conservatory lounge with views of a charming courtyard garden.

THE FACILITIES

Managed by a vibrant and energetic team, it's best to note that calling reception might redirect your call to the sister hotel, Careys Manor. However, the benefit of this connection is access to the SenSpa facilities there. Pets are allowed in specific rooms and areas, including the lounge, conservatory and Monty's pub, but unfortunately not in the Terrace restaurant.

FOOD & DRINK

The delectable and locally sourced tasting menu at the Terrace restaurant is a real treat, offering a choice between four or seven courses, which might include succulent belly pork or flavorful roe deer. The South Coast sea bass, served with a seaweed potato purée and rich shellfish reduction was our favourite dish. Meanwhile, at Monty's, savour classic heritage dishes, including hearty Scotch eggs, game pies and a British cheese ploughman's lunch.

The Terrace: Fine dining. Local produce, seasonal menus. Open Sat & Sun for lunch, Wed-Sun for dinner. À la carte menu and tasting menu available.
