THE LOCATION

You're within walking distance of some excellent cocktail and wine bars as well as bistro Les Rupins. It's less than ten minutes to the bars and bakeries of Canal St-Martin.

The hotel is in the heart of the up-and-coming 10th arrondissement. It's a seven-minute walk to the République metro stop.

By plane: London or Manchester to Paris Charles de Gaulle takes 1 hour 15 minutes, after which, it's a 40-minute drive to the hotel. Paid parking available nearby. Book flights to Paris.

By train: London to Paris Gare du Nord takes 2 hours 20 minutes, after which, it's a 15-minute walk to the hotel. Book trains to Paris.

CHARACTER & STYLE

Formerly an office block, the hotel is elegant with large windows and parquet flooring. Public spaces are stylish, with industrial lighting and mid-century furniture. The large central courtyard is the hotel's most striking feature, but the rooftop bar is a great asset in the warmer months.

Check-in is at self-service digital desks, but there's always someone on hand to provide assistance. Service is informal but friendly. There's a small gym in the basement and weekend yoga classes.

Rooms vary in size and the smallest (XS) is a little snug. There are plenty of amenities, including a desk, TV, kettle and coffee machine, plus proper mugs and glassware. Bathrooms feature bathtubs or walk-in showers and have Molten Brown toiletries.

Babines: modern French cuisine, seasonal ingredients. Open Tue-Sat for dinner and Sun for lunch.

The Café: freshly baked pastries and speciality coffee. Open daily for breakfast.
