Faro Punta Cumplida, Barlovento, La Palma
Have you ever wondered what it's like to stay in a lighthouse? La Palma's Faro Punta Cumplida is a dream of a destination enabling you to live out your fantasies. Staying here is a real treat, especially if the non-resident lighthouse keeper pays a visit during his shift.
Rooms available from £248.71 per night
La Palma's nickname is La Isla Bonita, and Barlovento is one of its most beautiful parts. The village capital is surrounded by laurel forests and you'll find the natural swimming pools Piscinas de La Fajana nearby, which bubble like Mentos in Coca-Cola once the Atlantic surges into them.
This hotel is a (spectacularly scenic) 45-minute drive from the airport, in the far north of the island.
By plane: flights from London take around 9 hours with a stop in Barcelona; flights from Birmingham take around 11 hours with a stop in Tenerife. The hotel is a 45-minute taxi ride from the airport. Free parking on-site. Book flights to La Palma.
