You'll meet your group, tour manager and expert guide Guy
Walters at Tothill Street, near Westminster Abbey. You'll board a
coach to the Bayswater and Paddington areas - the heart of the Nazi
Party's presence in London.
You'll look at the houses and flats where Nazi agents operated
and the venue where the Nazis held rallies while they were spied on
by the Metropolitan Police and MI5.
In the afternoon, you'll hear about the Tyler Kent Affair and
visit the site of the Russian Tea Rooms on Harrington Road, South
Kensington. Today, it's a beauty salon, so you'll head to a pub or
café where Guy Walters will reveal the whole story.
Next, you'll visit the former site of the Germany Embassy at 9
Carlton House Terrace, now the Royal Society's home. You'll learn
about Nazi diplomats in London, such as von Ribbentrop, and their
connections with the British aristocracy and the British fascist
You'll travel by coach to the Tower of London to hear how after
the outbreak of war, Hitler sent spies to Britain - most of whom
were rounded up, turned, or executed. The last person to be
executed at the Tower was Nazi spy Josef Jakobs, and you'll see the
chair and the rifle range where a firing squad shot him in
Next, you'll check into the Copthorne Tara Hotel in Kensington,
and after some time to settle in, your coach will take you to
German Gymnasium, a glamorous restaurant in Kings Cross. A special
three-course dinner features delicious German specialities such as
schnitzel and strudel under the expertise of German-born Executive
Chef Bjoern Wassmuth.
