Surrounded by pretty gardens and countryside, guests can wildlife spot, enjoy numerous walks and fly fishing is also available. Hereford is 30 minutes by car and foodie destination Ludlow isn't too far away.

Eight miles from Leominster, the inn is beside the 1931 bridge over the River Lugg on the main road through Aymestrey.

By car: around 1 hour 30 minutes from Birmingham, 2 hours from Bristol and 3 hours 30 minutes from York. There is free parking on site.

By train: Cardiff to Ludlow takes 1 hour 30 minutes; Manchester to Ludlow takes 1 hour 50 minutes - after which, a taxi takes 20 minutes. Book trains to Ludlow.

There's a relaxed, welcoming ambience. The bar and restaurant have low ceilings with dark beams, and artworks refelect the countryside location. We loved the wood burner for chillier nights and the cosy candelight in the evenings.

Staff pull out all the stops - you can take a tour of the kitchen garden and order packed lunches, or even chocolates, flowers and champagne. Enjoy the setting at a table by the river or in the pretty garden - or pick up a map for local walks.

Food & Drink

The restaurant and bar focus on serving local and seasonal produce from the best artisan suppliers in Herefordshire and the Welsh borders. This includes trout from local rivers, honey from their own beehive and produce from the kitchen gardens and orchards. The food is creative and exciting - think lemon verbena ice cream, battered Herefordshire snails, gin-cured trout and braised pheasant stew.
