THE HIGHLIGHTS
The Bull stands proudly on the main street through Bridport, a thriving market town under two miles from the beach and harbour at West Bay. West Bay was the location for the BBC series Broadchurch; thankfully, it's a far more friendly and less hazardous place in real life.

CHARACTER & STYLE

The coaching inn dates back to the 1500s and the oak floors and chunky fireplaces serve as reminder of that; the dining area and bar are informal and rustic. There are contemporary touches like bold wallpapers and the bedrooms have a stylish boutique-hotel vibe.

THE FACILITIES

There are plenty of options when it comes to food and drink. There's a restaurant serving pub food and a pizzeria in converted stables, a main bar and a cosy wine/cocktail bar (open in the evenings). We enjoyed drinks in the courtyard.

Rooms

Rooms are individually styled, but vary in size. All but the smallest rooms have coffee machines, and the Bramley toiletries are a nice touch. The larger rooms feel more upmarket, as they have roll-top baths.

Room types: Single Room, Cosy Room, Deluxe Room, Master Room, Family Room, Family Suite

Key amenities: ensuite bathroom with Bramley toiletries, bathrobes, hairdryer, TV, free Wi-Fi

Food & Drink

As this is a Fuller's pub, their beers dominate in the main bar. There's also a wine and cocktail bar. The restaurant serves British pub dishes featuring local ingredients and you also have the choice of the pizzeria, which is ideal if you're staying a few days. We loved the grilled on-the-bone Dorset sirloin steak with hand-cut chips and béarnaise sauce.

The Bull: traditional British pub with restaurant. All-day menu, open daily. Mains from £14.

The Pizzeria: stable-turned rustic restaurant. Authentic pizzas and craft beers, served daily.
